bloomage

Ipheion 'Rolf Fiedler' is starting to bloom. It's funny how I look forward to it so much every year. When once I bemoaned its prolific ways, now I appreciate it. It's never invasive, always welcome.

This tulip was brought back to me from Amsterdam by the hubby. It was supposed to be a white Darwin tulip, but instead is cream to pale yellow and looks like a Fosteriana. I had him plant them wherever he wanted in the yard and it has turned out splendidly. They are the first tulips to bloom in my yard.

  1. I really wish we could grow tulips here. It's just too much trouble to dig them up and refrigerate them. I would never remember to do it.--Randy

  2. The Ipheion are just starting to bloom here as well. I love how easy they naturalize.
