little snapdragon vine

I had the fortune of coming across this Maurandella antirrhiniflora on my hike today. This vine of snapdragon family (scrophulariaceae) is native to the Southwest. It looks too delicate to survive here, and it looks like a cool season plant, but it blooms throughout the summer into fall.

It is said to grow to 3 feet, but I guess this was a good year, as I encountered an enormous clump. I'm not really sure what the difference between this and Epixiphium wislizenii that is also a Snapdragon vine ("Net-cup snapdragon vine), but I the leaves of this one matched that of the drawings in Ivey of the Maurandella better.
