Sometimes you have to get up close to appreciate the details. They also illustrate what I was saying yesterday about some plants being too irregular to perform well in a prairie style garden.Above, Petalostemon purpurea (Purple prairie clover - despite the epithet, I haven't seen it in an Oehme van Sweden style garden ), and below, Brickelia (Brickelbush, which might be considered a weed).
the prairie clover shot is great...they really contrast with those other seedheads nicely
