winter's beauty 2

This is another photo that I love. This is not a submission to Gardening Gone Wild, but it shows winter beauty, no?
Snow is such an ephemeral thing here, that this coating of snow is tough to photograph. Not only does a heavy coating of snow occur infrequently, but to take a photo of it on the branches requires being on location at just the right time when the temperatures and snow fall are right. The few hours after the snow fall is the time, before the snow falls off or melts from the sun's warmth. Many times I have gone out during or right at the end of the snow fall, to find that there is no snow on the branches, only on the ground.
But when it does happen...magic.
