When planted, each of the tiny bulbs produces one flower, and after a few years, it makes a nice little clump. Here at Casa Coniglio, these tulips are very reliable, more so than many other plants, and that makes me very happy.
My 'Persian Pearl' looks very little like the pictures I see of this plant in catalogs or on the web, but it is still very charming, probably more so in person than the images I see. Every year I swear that I'm going to plant a whole lot more.
So charming...love these little species tulips...they have a sophistication missing from so many of their more flamboyant hybrids.
ReplyDeleteI agree! But then again, I like the flamboyant hybrids too. Just not in the same garden.
